  Terrible, the worst inspections department in NC!.............................................. ..................................................................................................................... BEWARE! If you are building a home or business in Carrboro. Make sure to hire a private inspector for your own protection. .......................................................... Carrboro inspections routinely miss the safety violations. But they cite contractors on trivia stuff..................................................................................................... We have worked all over NC and by far Carrboro has the worst inspectors we have delt with. We agree with the review above, too. None of their 3 inspectors have ever worked in a building trade.................................................................................. When we walked in the office the first time we were unbiased. We heard some other contractor cussing them out very loud. So we left and came back later................... When we came back several of them were bent over a computer looking at pictures from the Carribean cruise they went on. (Nothing to inspect I suppose)................... Then the permit fee was three times more then any other we have paid. It was for the same scope of work............................................................................................ No problem we pass that on to the customer, the Carrboro citizens........................ Then when they came out to inspect. They failed our inspection for using building material they said was not allowed. ..................................................................... ......................................................................................................................... It is a very common material that we have used for 30 years and continue to today. We called the manufactor to check if any thing had changed, They said no, the product we used was code compliant and superior to the one they recomended. In fact they said they have sold it for 50 years with NO complaints............................. ......................................................................................................................... We had to call the State inspections office, their boss and have him explain to them that our product was code compliant. .................................................................... So they made our company look bad to our customer. Yet they were at fault all along. .......................................................................................................................... Poor, terrible we do not recomend......................................................................... Beware if you're buying one on the new condos going up on main st. These inspectors have no ideal what they are doing.......................................................... The scary thing is that children have to live in the homes they inspect.
